Ancelotti: I Will Still Be Chelsea Coach

Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti has said he will be at the club next season, even if he fails to deliver trophies.

Speculation in England has suggested Blues owner Roman Abramovich has become irritated after seeing his side ousted from the Champions League, and dropping to third in the Premier League, despite having a game in hand.

Ancelotti is unfazed by the talk and he has clear ideas.

“First of all I think we will do well this year,” he told La Stampa.

“In any case, my future will surely be at Chelsea next year, regardless of results.”

Chelsea have stumbled recently, but Ancelotti is not looking for excuses.

“The moment we are going through is independent from injuries,” he added.

“It does affect things, but we also had many absences during the African Nations Cup in January. All teams have had injuries. This cannot be an excuse.”

His side dropped to third in the Premier League following a 1-1 draw away to Blackburn last weekend.

But Ancelotti is adamant his side are still in with a shout of winning the title.

“We lost two points cosidering how the game went,” he added.

“We are going through a delicate moment between injuries and disappointment from the cup [Champions League].

“But we are fighting on two fronts.”
